Please add the following sentence to either the final paragraph in the top section or in the "Asset transfer to Utah and suspension of operations" section (or both areas)...
"A new leader in the Phoenix region, Maricopa County Board of Supervisors Chair Tom Galvin, expressed to NHL commissioner Gary Bettman genuine interest in bringing about a committee of political and business leaders to help bring back the Coyotes franchise within the state of Arizona as of late 2024 and early 2025.[1]"
The reason why I said either or both areas of interest is because I feel the information in this statement to be pretty relevant in its own right since it mentions that attempts to either revive the Coyotes or bring back the NHL within the state of Arizona is pretty relevant and interesting in regards to the saga of this franchise, and it could potentially fit either or both areas at hand since they were last held in a standstill following Alex Meruelo's leave from the NHL. 70.162.127.129 (talk) 01:41, 21 January 2025 (UTC)

They were never the Winnipeg Jets.
[edit]Why does the article claim that they used to be the Jets? The team that that is true for is the currently unnamed Utah team. Considering that the coyotes are currently in active, and could potentially be brought back one day, the resurrected team would not have that history. They would only assume the history of the coyotes franchise, not whatever team they were before then. That history already belongs to the Jets anyway, so it honestly should not have been included to begin with even before the move. 76.141.244.255 (talk) 00:48, 9 March 2025 (UTC)
- 1972-1996, they were. Arizona's assets were moved to Utah, but not the history. Both teams have the same history, but with Utah, it's different. So, they WERE the Winnipeg Jets. UtahJazzFan1 (talk) 15:21, 9 March 2025 (UTC)
